<p><span style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;">Lea Marshall’s writing has appeared in <i>Imagining: A Gibney Journal, The Atlantic, Dance Magazine, Dance Teacher, Fjord Review, Dance International, WomenArts</i>, Richmond’s <i>Style Weekly</i>, Charlottesville’s <i>C-ville Weekly</i>, and National Public Radio’s <i>Morning Edition</i>.&nbsp;</span><br><br><span style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;">Her poetry has appeared in <i>Attached to the Living World: A New Ecopoetry Anthology, Rogue Agent, JAMA, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Diode, Thrush</i>, and elsewhere. Her first book, <i>The Slow Hammer of Roots</i>, was published by Broadstone Books in 2025.</span><br><br><span style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;">Marshall most recently served as Director of Research for Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU)’s School of the Arts. She worked as a producer and arts administrator for over 20 years, serving as co-founder and Executive Director of Ground Zero Dance, and as associate chair of VCU’s Department of Dance + Choreography. She served on the board of the American College Dance Association and as an accreditation site visitor for the National Association of Schools of Dance. She currently works as a grant writer and lives in Charlottesville, Virginia.</span></p>
