The National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) has various committees to allow for members to get involved with NDEO. Serving on a committee is considered a benefit of membership to NDEO.
Are you passionate about dance education? Do you want to get involved with NDEO? Do you have insights, experiences, and knowledge that you can share? NDEO is seeking volunteers for the Awards Committee.
The Awards Committee, in partnership with the NDEO Board, and Staff, provides guidance, and advisory over the NDEO annual National Awards and the award nomination/selection process. The Awards Committee members adjudicate the award nominees and advise on the planning of the awards ceremony for selected honorees. Learn more about the National Awards program here. The first meeting of the committee will be on March 16th, 2026 at 7:30pm ET.

Being on an NDEO Committee is considered a Member Benefit. It is an opportunity for the member to give back, make connections, and gain organizational experience should a future leadership position be of interest. A robust committee structure will leverage the knowledge of a larger group of people to help the Board and Staff make the best decisions possible within the constraints of human, logistical, and financial resources.
NDEO Staff and Board work closely with these committees to ensure all ideas and initiatives are in line with the mission and vision of NDEO, as well as confirming the organization's capacity to fulfill any new ideas or initiatives. NDEO Staff and Board have final say in the direction of the work of our various committees, and what ideas and initiatives the organization can achieve in a given year.
