Held every fall, the NDEO National Conference is the premier professional development event for dance educators. Over three vibrant days, you will have access to 250+ workshops, master classes, panel discussions, paper presentations, social events, and captivating performances. Kick off your experience with a full day of pre-conference intensives before the official start.

Call for NM Site Committee Members

Please fill out this form if you are interested in serving on the site committee for NDEO's National Conference in Albuquerque, NM: SYNERGY: Uniting to Progress the Field of Dance Education from Thursday, September 24 - Sunday September 27, 2026

The New Mexico site committee will meet monthly Zoom, and communicate via email regularly from January 2026-September 2026.  Meeting times and dates are TBD between NDEO staff and site committee members.

The site committee will assist NDEO with bringing the local dance communities of New Mexico to our conference attendees who travel in from across the nation and world.  

The ideal person to serve on this site committee will have a strong connection to or knowledge of the New Mexico dance community.  This person should have a diverse range of knowledge of the various sectors represented in NM, the professional dance scene, and student level performance groups, all of which represent a diverse range of dance genres. We are also interested in applicants who have development experience and/or connections to local funders, and can assist NDEO's existing development committee with securing various grants and funds to help support conference programming.

*This is an unpaid volunteer position designed to help bring the local NM dance community to NDEO conference attendees.

Kick off your experience with a full day of pre-conference intensives before the official start.

  • A Wide Range of Sessions: With over 220+ sessions over 4 days (9/24, 9/25, 9/26, and 9/27), you'll find workshops and classes specifically designed for every type of dance educator. Whether you teach in K-12 schools, studios, or colleges, specialize in a particular dance genre, or work with different age groups, there are sessions catered to your unique needs. 
  • Networking Opportunities: Build lasting connections with a community of dance educators and aspiring dance educators who share your passion. You'll meet dance teachers who shift your perspectives, share your struggles, and ignite your growth. The NDEO Conference is a space of comradery and community as we buoy each other up to lift the field of dance education to new heights
  • Diverse and Knowledgable Presenters:  NDEO National Conferences are for dance educators by dance educators ~ there will be over 250 presenters and co-presenters all ready to share their experiences, knowledge, and research with you! They come from all backgrounds, teaching environments, and genres.

What You Need to Know:

  • General Schedule: Your full registration fee covers all sessions over the three days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), plus a seated dinner event (Grand Opening) and a food buffet (Grand Closing). There is something for everyone with 8+ sessions offered for every time block. Most sessions are 1 hour. No need to RSVP for individual sessions. 
  • Pre-Conference Intensives: For an additional flat fee, delve deeper with our pre-conference intensives held the day before (Thursday) the conference. Intensives are typically 2-3 hours each. Intensives will be announced in early 2026.
  • Additional Features:  A Key Note Speaker, a Plenary Session, Pop-Up Performances, and a Student Sharing Performance are essential to an NDEO  Conference while Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings (sprinkled throughout the schedule) round out the experience. SIGs serve as space for dance teachers to network, discuss, and share concerns affecting their sector of the field. Featured SIGs at the 2026 Conference: K-12; Early Childhood; Dance Studios; Higher Ed; Dance & Disability; Men in Dance; Leadership; Advocacy; Performing Arts Orgs.
  • Discount if you have a Membership: Current NDEO Members enjoy a discounted conference registration fee. If you are not a member go ahead and sign up today to save $100 on your conference registration fee.
