Dance is, at its heart, a practice in creativity, cooperation, and collaboration.

When dance educators work together, it strengthens the entire dance ecosystem. NDEO is one of the few dance organizations that serves educators working in every sector of the field, and we believe in honoring the synergy between them. One third of our members teach or work primarily in higher education, one third of our members teach or work primarily in K-12 schools, and one third of our members teach or work primarily in dance studios, community organizations, and teaching artist programs. Regardless of where we teach, dance is our common denominator. When we collaborate together, we move closer to our goal of Dance Education for ALL.

We invite dance educators in all sectors, genres, and career stages to apply to present sessions centered around this year’s theme: SYNERGY: Uniting to Progress the Field of Dance Education. Share your visions, successes, challenges, and works in progress. In a period of turbulence for our country and our field, we need each other more than ever. Now is the time to join forces and buoy each other up with support and collaboration. Join us next September as we convene in Albuquerque, New Mexico to progress the field of dance education

Preparing Your Submission

• Read the Call for Conference Sessions listing submission and presenter requirements and all questions that you will need to answer in the online form.
• You will access your submissions from within your NDEO Member Dashboard on this website. Once in your dashboard, click on Session Proposals in the lefthand menu. You can work within the form, save your work, and return as often as you’d like prior to the submission deadline. We encourage you to have an offline backup in case anything goes amiss with the form submission. Get full online submission instructions and helpful tips.
• See the scoring rubrics for proposals to assist you in preparing your proposal.
• Review all presenter deadlines prior to submission and make sure all co-presenters on your session are fully aware of them.
• Review conference registration fees and deadlines so you can start planning for attendance. All accepted presenters are eligible for the Early Bird member registration fee through the presenter registration deadline of 8/1/26.
• Please contact us at conference@ndeo.org with any questions. Please contact us as early as possible and note that for communications coming in close to the proposal deadline there may be a delay in answers as volume is often quite high. NDEO staff are available during the business hours of Monday - Friday 10 am - 5 pm ET, and emails will not be responded to on weekends, so please plan accordingly.
