Welcome to the Journal of Dance Education (JoDE). JoDE is an international, peer-reviewed journal publishing high-quality, original articles on topics related to the practical and theoretical aspects associated with dance education. JoDE aims to examine and bring awareness to a diverse set of issues and practices related to dance teaching and learning in K-12 schools, independent studios, higher education, and community education.
Topics within the journal include but are not limited to: training of dancers, curriculum, pedagogy, teaching methodology, standards, assessment, dance administration, collaboration, creativity, dance advocacy, social justice issues, historical and cultural contexts, choreography, technology and media, online learning, dance and disability, and integrated and interdisciplinary dance studies. JoDE has an international reach and has published articles by a variety of international and U.S. authors who have interesting research to share. Reading JoDE is an excellent way to stay abreast of dance education research and practice in the U.S. and abroad.
All articles published in JoDE have undergone rigorous double anonymous peer review from a panel of national and international scholars.
