How do we, as dance educators, facilitate conversations around consent, boundaries, and needs in the dance studio that honor the bodily autonomy of dancers AND encourage creative risk-taking?
Join Intimacy Direction in Dance co-founder, and author of Care-full Creativity in Theatre and Dance Education: Consent-Forward, Trauma-Informed, Psychologically Safe Movement Pedagogy, Nicole Perry for practical tools and conversations around consent (which goes far beyond touch) and creativity. Nicole is an award-winning intimacy professional and choreographer, as well as a dance and movement educator, passionate about supporting other teachers as they create their own pedagogies of care. This webinar offers a practical tool to help students as discomfort v. unsafe, a template for boundary conversations, and a discussion on when an Intimacy Professional can support the creative process in a way that benefits both the dancers and the choreographer.
